New analyst report: Digital product management tools and tech
Product managers have long relied on a collection of generic tools, like Excel and Powerpoint, to coordinate and collaborate across teams. While they’re often free and easy to use, they fall short when it comes to delivering the structure, best practices, and flexibility provided by tools built specifically for product management. Fortunately, a bevy of new tools have emerged to help product managers research, design, develop, and launch excellent products.
In fact, the technology landscape for product management has grown to be so substantial that Independent Research Firm Forrester just released a new report, entitled “New Tech: Digital Product Management Tools and Tech,” which reviews 48 vendors in the product management tools market based on the following functionality segments: planning and prioritization, customer research and insights, design and delivery, and product engagement. We were excited to see Productboard included in this list, given that our focus has always been to help product managers gather customer feedback and insights, make important prioritization decisions, and ultimately build better products.
According to the report, companies who take advantage of all of this new product management technology and apply the right combination of tools are more likely to deliver:
- Increased customer value
- Improved product adoption
- Higher customer retention and revenue growth
So if you’re still relying on spreadsheets and generic tools, it might be time to start evaluating technology built specifically for product management.
