Evercast is revolutionizing creative collaboration for media and entertainment industries, providing a high-quality, low-latency, and secure streaming platform for major studios like Disney, Warner Bros., and Netflix. As a platform built to meet the rigorous demands of film, TV, gaming, and even industries like advertising and healthcare, Evercast empowers remote teams to make critical creative decisions efficiently.

But as Evercast grew, so did the volume of customer requests and strategic decisions their product team needed to navigate. Managing this influx of data and ensuring alignment across stakeholders became increasingly complex—until they adopted Productboard.

The Challenge: Too Many Requests, No Clear Prioritization

Evercast’s core mission is to provide a secure, high-quality collaboration platform for the entertainment industry. Unlike traditional video conferencing tools, Evercast needs to ensure low latency and uncompromised security for IP-sensitive content. The IP of big motion picture studios is incredibly important, so having unparalleled security is non-negotiable.

To meet these high standards, Evercast’s product team prioritizes features based on feedback from both industry clients and internal stakeholders. The problem? “We just have so many requests coming in,” said Tommy Snyder, VP of Product at Evercast. “How do you really prioritize that? And how do you deliver really high-quality products?”

Before Productboard, these competing priorities often resulted in disjointed workflows, misalignment between teams, and inefficiencies in tracking customer needs. The team lacked a single source of truth for feature requests, making it difficult to communicate priorities internally and justify roadmap decisions to stakeholders. Key barriers included:

  • A high volume of feature requests from major customers, all with differing needs.
  • Difficulty prioritizing what to build next based on actual demand and impact.
  • Lack of a centralized, data-driven system for tracking customer feedback and stakeholder alignment.

From Guesswork to Data-Driven Decisions with Consolidated Customer Insights

Without centralized data, prioritizing features and identifying trends was often based on assumptions rather than facts. “Before Productboard, it really was a guessing game,” Tommy admits. “Support would say, ‘Oh, people are complaining about this,’ but there wasn’t much data to back that up. Product had their own requests, and tech was saying they needed something different. So we spent a lot of time arguing over thoughts and opinions.”

[We] can now look at these in one place and see where requests align, which lets us solve multiple pain points with one feature.

The introduction of Productboard changed that dynamic by integrating all of Evercast’s key data sources, from Zendesk for customer issues to Jira for tracking feature requests. “Now we’re able to have really fact-based discussions,” Tommy explains. “We take customer issues from Zendesk, filter them into pain points, and organize feature requests in Productboard. Tech can now look at these in one place and see where requests align, which lets us solve multiple pain points with one feature.”

This shift has allowed the Evercast team to spend less time on internal debates and more time on executing valuable solutions for customers. Tommy points to a specific feature as an example: “One of our top requests was ‘clear all drawings’—something we may have overlooked before. Now, we can prioritize it based on demand and see the immediate impact on customer satisfaction.”

By implementing Productboard, Evercast transformed the way they prioritize features, align stakeholders, and optimize product operations. “Productboard has been a total game changer for us. It gives us a high-level overview of requests and helps us prioritize based on what aligns with our vision,” said Tommy. “Now we can tell more of a cohesive story of, ‘Hey, these are the select ones because we’ve had the most requests for these, or we feel like these bring the most value because of X, Y, Z.’”

With Productboard’s integrated customer insights and strategic planning capabilities, Evercast could:

  • Capture and centralize feedback from multiple sources – including major studios, beta testers, support teams, and industry trends.
  • Align teams across Product, Engineering, and Support to drive faster decision-making.
  • Prioritize features based on real demand, rather than assumptions or internal debate.

Building for the Future with Innovation at the Core

Innovation is central to Evercast’s growth strategy. One recent success was Evercast’s integration with Apple Vision Pro, which allowed creators to experience immersive, real-time collaboration.

The Apple Vision Pro project exemplifies Evercast’s approach to innovation. Tommy and his team designed the app to bring Evercast’s conferencing features into a theater-like environment, allowing directors to work remotely while visualizing their films in large-scale, high-resolution formats. One notable success story came from director John Chu, who used the Vision Pro app to review footage from Wicked at home, even creating a virtual theater to see his work in a realistic setting.

For Tommy, this project highlights the importance of balancing core product functions with visionary innovation. “It’s unknown territory, but it’s incredibly exciting. And thanks to Productboard, we can also make sure we’re supporting our core features and keeping our high standards for existing users.”

Impact: Faster Execution, Clearer Roadmaps

With Productboard, Evercast streamlined their product management processes and reduced friction between teams, making it easier to align on what truly matters. The results?

  • More efficient collaboration across teams: Regular cross-functional meetings now revolve around Productboard data, reducing subjectivity and improving alignment.
  • Faster prioritization and execution: According to Tommy, “Now with Productboard, we can actually say, ‘We have the data to back this up. This is our number one request.’ And we can go deliver that.”
  • Increased customer trust and transparency: Evercast can now confidently communicate why certain features are prioritized, making customers feel heard.
