Being the first product hire of a company can be a challenging yet rewarding experience. As a 0-1 product manager, you are entrusted with the crucial task of laying the foundation, shaping the product’s direction, and achieving product-market fit while simultaneously developing and shipping the product.
While the role of a product pioneer may seem glamorous from an outsider’s perspective, the reality is that building a product from scratch – starting from ground zero and taking it to a fully functional and successful state – is hard. You will find yourself immersed in the nitty-gritty details, wearing multiple hats, and navigating through ambiguity and uncertainty. Fast iterations and constant adaptation require a unique mindset and effective strategies.
In this session, we will dive into what truly matters as a 0-1 product manager. We will explore the challenges you are most likely to encounter on your journey and provide practical insights on how to overcome them.
