Sr/Staff Product Operations Manager

About the Role:

As a Staff Product Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in driving operational excellence across the product organization. You'll partner with product management, engineering, design, and go-to-market teams to streamline processes, enhance product development efficiencies, and enable the team to deliver high-impact results. You will also act as a thought leader within the product operations community, specifically around the use of Productboard’s own platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Strategy: Develop and implement operational frameworks that improve cross-functional collaboration, optimize the product development lifecycle, and drive alignment with business goals.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement processes to improve the efficiency of product planning, execution, and delivery, minimizing bottlenecks and ensuring clear handoffs between teams.
  • Cross-organizational Processes: Build processes that ensure alignment between Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) teams with go-to-market (GTM) teams, fostering a collaborative environment and accelerating the successful launch and adoption of products.
  • Product Enablement: Create systems that empower the product management team to collaborate effectively and scale efficiently as the organization grows.
  • Product Data & Insights: Build and maintain robust reporting mechanisms to provide visibility into product performance, team metrics, and key KPIs, enabling data-driven decision-making.
  • Lead Major Product Launches: Orchestrate the operational processes for significant product launches, ensuring all cross-functional teams (EPD, GTM, Support, etc.) are aligned and prepared.
  • Drive Operations for Productboard: Oversee the effective use and operations of Productboard within the organization, ensuring that the team leverages its capabilities to improve decision-making, product planning, and customer feedback management.
  • Product Planning: Manage product planning processes, including quarterly OKR setting, roadmapping, and product review cadences, ensuring alignment across the organization.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with product, engineering, design, marketing, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment on priorities and goals.
  • Change Management: Lead change management initiatives that involve the rollout of new processes, tools, and methodologies within the product team, ensuring smooth transitions and adoption.
  • Championship: Evangelize product operations best practices in the community and with customers.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in product management, product operations, or a related role in a fast-paced, growth-stage technology company.
  • Experience in a B2B SaaS environment or with enterprise software products.
  • Proven track record of developing and scaling operational processes within a product or technical organization.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop frameworks, measure impact, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience managing complex cross-functional initiatives and ensuring alignment across multiple teams.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively with teams across all levels.
  • Familiarity with product development frameworks (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and product management tools (e.g., Productboard).
  • Experience working with OKRs, product performance metrics, and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, navigate ambiguity, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with Product-Led Growth (PLG) strategies.
  • Background in change management or product enablement at a scaling company.
